SLAVE TO THE FARM: True Tales of Truancy & Incarceration, is my candid and gritty account of being placed at THE SHAWBRIDGE BOYS FARM, Quebec’s oldest juvenile detention center from 1983 to 1987. This book is unique in that it is the first and only memoir published about this 116 year old institution that is still housing children today. One of Canada’s largest class actions against both the province of Québec and the Department of Youth Protection is underway.
